The company

Playviz Augmented Reality Application is developed by Previznet.  Previznet is a French start-up founded in 2007 by two engineers and researchers from the French Institute of Petroleum, Yohan Bentolila, a specialist in image processing, and Francis Pradel, a 3D expert. 

As he was moving in 2005, Yohan Bentolila found out that the existing tools on the market did not provide a sufficient tool for simply and quickly visualizing furniture and decorative objects in his own interior before buying. Concerned with making such a service available to the general public, he came up with the idea of developing an Augmented Reality technology which allows the integration of decorative objects in a photo. In close collaboration with Francis Pradel, it took them 3 years to develop the Playviz application and make it accessible to the general public. 

They were joined in 2008 by a marketing team working in the field of Home and Web services in order to develop an offer appropriate offer to the market of furniture and decoration. 

According to Yohan Bentolila, Founder of Previznet: "Our ambition is to make Playviz the benchmark for Augmented Reality applied to the Home universe. The advantages of our technology – simplicity and realism, should enable the actors to change consumers’ behavior, but also to secure and boost their sales.  We are already working on the next steps, as augmented reality offers a considerable potential for innovation. “

Awards

Previznet was a winner of the 10th national contest for the creation of innovative technology companies in June 2008 and of the competition “Tremplin-Entreprise Sénat-ESSEC” in July 2008.
